It's crunch time for 0-2 Ukraine and 1-1 Israel in the pursuit of a FIBA EuroBasket 2025 berth. Their 72-70 win in Ovidelas over Portugal, without their up-and-coming prospects, might have been enough for Israel to get a foot in the door, whilst Ukraine suffered a narrow defeat against the Lusitans.
Israel finished 4th at the FIBA U18 EuroBasket 2024, and their prospect Ben Saraf is already shining for Ulm and looking to be the floor general for the national team for years to come (waiting for Omer Mayer as well...).
The contest might be closer than expected, especially counting on Issuf Sanon and Vyacheslav Bobrov's familiarity with the Arena Riga. Will Ukraine be able to get their win count moving, or will Israel close in on qualification?
