UCAM Murcia host Nanterre 92 looking to get back to Final Four
Sito Alonso's team can count on an almost-immaculate homecourt record as Nanterre 92 travel to South East Spain: the Universitarios have won 23 of their last 25 home games in the Basketball Champions League (it would have been 24, weren't it for Leensanity on Gameday 1).
Nanterre 92 took care of business against Filou Oostende, but challenging Murcia at the Palacio will be another kind of challenge. On a three-game skid domestically, the team is still facing some growing pains as they adapt to life post Pascal Donnadieu: the French legend led the team for 37 seasons, and the team is in a kind of transition as they find their new identity.
UCAM Murcia's schedule has been tough in January, when the Universitarios faced Unicaja, Manresa, Lleida, Coruna and Barcelona, coming out with a 2-3 record and unusually positioned in 11th place in the Liga ACB. Birgander and Radebaugh's combined 49 points weren't enough to take the Universitarios over Barcelona after a five-point OT defeat at the Palacio.
Radebaugh tied the game to force OT with an incredible triple, and the mullet-rocking Colorado native almost did it again, but the shot was in and out.
Will the Overtime effort against Barça have cost UCAM Murcia something, leaving a window for Nanterre 92, or will the Spaniards take care of business as they usually do?
