Group J leaders meet up at the Carpena as Unicaja keep writing history

It was new year, same Unicaja at the Jose Maria Martin Carpena on Wednesday, as Unicaja calmly dismissed visitors Manisa Basket to keep their winning streak alive, an incredible number now counting 17 games before Rytas Vilnius travel to Malaga. Unicaja also went on to calmly blow out EuroLeague side Baskonia at the weekend, displaying their usual strength in depth as 5 players reached double-figures ahead of a famous win.

Rytas Vilnius was not less impressive than the Andalusians giants as they welcomed Galatasaray to their arena before blowing them out 86-66, led by a 16-point performance by standout Gytis Radzevicious. If Unicaja are writing history with their streak, Rytas Vilnius are calmly on their franchise best BCL winning streak, counting 6 games before Tuesday night's clash with Unicaja.

The Lithuanians also secured the services of guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright from the NBL, and are looking to integrate the former Galatasaray player into the roster to contribute in the Round of 16.

The prospect of facing defending champs Unicaja at home are daunting, but Rytas Vilnius will be looking to surprise and keep the rhythm low, and wanting to keep their chances alive for the reverse fixture at their homecourt in Vilnius.
