Bahamas need one more win before chance at historic Olympic berth
The FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments in Valencia did not look promising for the Cedrus Libani as they got routed by hosts Spain.
Their resiliency, however, earned them a win against Angola, and Lebanon lives to see another day. Omari Spellman provided a 21-point, 13-rebound double-double and was pivotal in the win, but he will need that and more against the Bahamas.
The Caribbean nation has the 2nd best offense in the tournament despite being matched in a more competitive group. Their 43.6% from three has only been matched by Poland, and their field goal percentage is the highest in the Valencia tournament.
Anything but a convincing win for the Bahamas would be a massive surprise, setting up for a great Final for Chris Demarco’s team.
