Pinar host Tenerife in tasty season opener
Pinar Karsiyaka are set to open their BCL season against finalists La Laguna Tenerife.
With a big, Vernon Carey Jr-shaped hole in the paint, Pinar have managed to keep veteran Errick McCollum, while snapping Damien Jefferson from Filou Oostende.
In the paint, French Jerry Boutsiele will try to replace Carey's presence, while Daron Russell joined from Manisa to take the point guard position.
La Laguna Tenerife just fell short in the BCL and, while retaining most of their core, upgraded their depth with Payton Wills (G from Pistoia) and Thomas Scrubb from Obradoiro.
Another capable ball handler and scorer Lluis Costa made the trip to the Canary Islands from Andalusia, where he played wearing Granada's colors.
Reigning MVP Marcelinho Huertas is still in the team and will be looking to add another trophy to his cabinet.
