China vs Puerto Rico - Preview & Prediction
Puerto Rico need to win against China, and China need to win to keep their hopes of getting to the Paris Olympics alive, after failing to deliver against South Sudan. Their defense wasn’t simply good enough, as they allowed the African team too many open three-point opportunities. They’ll need to be much better in defense if they hope to match a very determined Puerto Rico side, in need of a win to lock their 2nd round progression.
China will make it hard for Puerto Rico, but Los Gallos are expected to make it through to the 2nd round with a win.

South Sudan vs Serbia - Preview & Prediction
South Sudan showed they thoroughly deserved to be at the FIBA World Cup with their win against China, but they’ll have to hope that the Asian team do their part in beating Puerto Rico if they want to progress to the Second Round. They will still want to give their best against a Serbia team that is currently unbeaten and looking to stay that way. The difference in quality between the two teams will mean Serbia still probably comes on top of Carlik Jones and Co.

Group C FIBA World Cup Day 6 Preview
USA vs Jordan - Preview & Prediction
Jordan gave New Zealand serious trouble as they forced the Tall Blacks into overtime thanks to a heroic crunch-time performance from Rondae Hollis-Jefferson. Unfortunately, they couldn’t get the win, and this means their hopes of progressing to the second round are over.
On the other hand, Team USA has been cruising as expected, and are tipped to end their group stage with their third win when they face Jordan.

Greece vs New Zealand - Preview & Prediction
Their lack of shooting has meant Greece has struggled more than they expected in this first round of the 2023 FIBA World Cup, winning against Jordan in far from convincing fashion. The Greeks didn’t really ask team USA many questions, and will need to take the game against New Zealand seriously. The Tall Blacks were 13/25 from downtown, and their solid system means they could pose a real threat to Greece.
Greece is still expected to progress as they did four years ago, but they will not have it easy against New Zealand.

Group F FIBA World Cup Day 6 Preview
Venezuela vs Georgia - Preview & Prediction
Georgia looks to keep their 2nd place in group F as they face off Venezuela, a team that has not shown much in this FIBA World Cup. Although unlikely, Venezuela could still make it to the next round in case they beat Georgia by 15 points or more, therefore Shengelia & co need to take the test seriously to keep their hands on the second place.

Cape Verde vs Slovenia - Preview & Prediction
After getting their first historical win on Venezuela, the smallest nation in the 2023 FIBA World Cup are now preparing to face Luka Doncic, the true star of this World Cup so far, averaging 35.5 points, 8.5 boards, and six dimes. Cape Verde will need to find answers to the Slovenian pick & roll to stand any chance of coming out on top, but Slovenia will be determined to stay unbeaten.

Group G FIBA World Cup Day 6 Preview
Côte D’Ivoire vs Brazil - Preview & Prediction
The match between Côte d’Ivoire and Brazil will effectively decide who progresses to the next stage in 2nd place. After beating Iran in dramatic fashion, the African team will need to do much better to stand a chance against a superior Brazilian side. Bruno Caboclo will be a question to answer in the paint for Les Éléphants, but the game is Brazil’s to lose.

Iran vs Spain - Preview & Prediction
With Iran effectively out of the World Cup following their loss against Côte d’Ivoire on Monday, the Persians are expected to get out of the tournament without a win. This is a hit to their Olympics chances, and they would need a miracle to beat La Roja, one of the best teams in the tournament. Their zone defense worked against Côte d’Ivoire but it’s not going to work against an experienced and deep Spain side.
