Bahamas suffered a comeback in their first game against Montenegro, where Simonovic, Kendrick Perry, and Nikola Vucevic combined for 50 of Montenegro’s 93 points to sink the Bahamians.
Bahamas’ team includes five NBA players: Portland Trail-Blazers center Deandre Ayton, sharpshooter Buddy Hield, Isaiah Mobley of the Cleveland Cavaliers, scorer Eric Gordon, and Kai Jones.
Bahamas will travel to Valencia, Spain, to compete in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments and look for a berth to the summer games.
The big question mark for Thursday’s game is still Giannis’ involvement: the Greek Freak has skipped the friendly against Poland and Greece’s demise of Montenegro in the Acropolis Aegean Tournament.
