Tenerife looking to secure Group C top spot with trip to Riga 

Tenerife, one of the most in-form Basketball Champions League teams, travel to Riga to get to 4-1 in Group C. A win in Riga gives the Canarios the most chances of coming out on top of the group as the group stage comes to an end on Tuesday December 19th . 

For the visitors, Marcelinho Huertas, Tim Abromaitis and Sasu Salin can join the 800-points club in the BCL. The Tenerife core will join only four players currently able to reach that milestone. Txus Vidorreta’s players will want to bounce back after an unexpected home defeat to Obradoiro snapped their perfect November. 

VEF need to make homecourt advantage count

VEF Riga has been struggling in general in the BCL, but the only two wins they racked in their last 13 games (per Opta) have come at the Riga Arena. They need to find the consistency they’ve been lacking if they want to pose a serious threat to the Spaniards, as they sit in the bottom three for offensive rating in this year’s Basketball Champions League. 

VEF will turn to Isiah Pineiro, capable of scoring 10+ points in his last 4 home games in the BCL for VEF Riga. However, they will need much more to get their first win in six games against the well-oiled machine that is Lenovo Tenerife.
